In life, the ugly truth about love is never revealed to us very easily. This is exactly what the director Robert Luketic has done with the movie, The Ugly Truth. He has twisted and turned the movie to the extent of literally keeping the audience on their toes. Better stay alert for unthinkable gags while watching this movie.
The Ugly Truth starred by Katherine Heigl and Gerard Butler, is one movie far from predictability. The trailers depict Butler (called Mike in the movie) as the guru of relationships. This is exactly what Heigl disagrees about. She takes offence of him being a know – it – all like any of us would. But if you pay close attention you will realize he admits that he doesn’t understand a thing about romance or love. He also admits he knows much about lust and manipulation. But towards the end the bond depicted by Katherine Heigl and Gerard Butler seems everlasting. Thus the truth of the matter is clear that when you are in love, thoughts and actions contradict. Therefore, The Ugly Truth is that being in love and in a relationship is the hardest thing. Being dishonest with others is as good as lying to yourself.
